This blog is dedicated to my quest, "
Teach your self drawing"

It goes like this; September 2008 I saw a time laps painting by Nico Di Matte. The experiance was mind blowing. February 2009 I bought my first wacom tablet, and here my quest begins. Feel free to follow my fumbling path and shaky lines, while I chronologically document all my drawing in this blog

Wet Leaf Workshop

I was going to participate in a Workshop over at CGPainting.com with the topic "Wet Leaf". Tho I never finished it. Most of the reasons for not finishing, was because I had started giving up on painting with the mouse. It gave me such pain to my arm and wrist. So in the end, this turned out to be my last image created in Gimp with the mouse. The rest of 2008 I never painted anything and was just going around waiting till the time I could afford a Wacom Tablet.

First Eye

I followed a tutorial I found at CGPainting.com and tried my self on painting an eye. In Gimp with a mouse. Not very impressive but still, its my first.

This is a slider showing the process i used to get to the final image.

A Church

My third image ever. A church at a bright blue day. I was using a reference photo for this one. And personally I'm quite happy with the result.

Alien Plant

My second image was still made with Gimp and a mouse. This little image was done from imagination. Painting with a mouse was hard, and I secretly imagined that if I only had a tablet. I would draw so much better (talk about deluding your self)

Peace

This was made back in mid October 2008. I had just seen some YouTube videos by Nico Di Matte that inspired me to download Gimp and try painting. I had no tablet so I was working with my mouse. I guess watching the speed paintings by Nico Di Matte was my inspiration to start learning how to draw. This brought me to a nice little art community over at CGPainting.com. And there I found a tutorial on how to blend colors. So in this little image (my very first ever) I tried to blend colors like the tutorial I had seen.
